Basel is an ever-changing city on the Rhine, rich in tradition and history, center of the global life sciences industry and home to the oldest university in Switzerland, interweaving the cultures and economies of three countries. Basel is indeed a city of culture, with a deep and variety of arts, performances and unique events for every taste. The nearby Jura, neighboring Alsace and the Black Forest offer many additional sport and leisure opportunities.
The Basel regional group of the network association is made up of gay and bisexual men who want to make a difference: welcoming students, freelancers, teachers and managers from various areas of public, cultural and economic life. We value commitment, engagement and potential over titles, and strive to bring the politics, traditions, sites and landscapes of this unique region closer to members who have moved here, helping them integrate into our community.
We stand for the rights and interests of LGBT * people in Basel and beyond. We maintain a tolerant, consensus-based approach. We hold regular events presenting topics of interest to the community: LGBT and related social issues, health, insights into professions or articles on topics of importance to our members.
Our traditional social events include the New Year's reception, the May outing, the summer festival and the autumn hike. We also organize visits to cultural events such as exhibitions, films, and theater or concert performances.
We offer the chance to make new acquaintances, build and maintain friendships, expand personal networks and exchange ideas. Members especially value the friendly sense of community as well as encounters and experiences that are often hard for newcomers to access without a strong social network.
We meet every Monday for a casual aperitif in downtown Basel.
