Network Zurich is the largest regional group with around 200 members and provides a network of contacts for personal and professional development.
“Apéro Plus”, which takes place once a month, explores issues relating to homosexuality in politics, the arts, business and society. Topics examined at past meetings include Queeramnesty (gay refugees and asylum-seekers), the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), gay football fan clubs (Letzi Junxx) and homophobia in Russia.
Various tours and events have been held in the Kunsthaus and Landesmuseum. Networkers were given a behind-the-scenes tour of freight handling at Zurich airport and have visited Zurich University of the Arts on the new Toni-Areal site. One special highlight was a trip to Strasbourg to visit the Council of Europe, and an exclusive tour led by Raphaël Comte, member of the Swiss Council of States.
At its “Business Lunch” Network Zurich presents well-known public personalities. Guests so far have ranged from actors, politicians and business leaders to an abbot, including Andreas Homoki (Director of Zurich Opera House), SVP President Toni Brunner, TV presenter Sven Epinay and public prosecutor Michael Lauber.
Network Zurich is interested in committed Networkers who play an active part in the association and in society.
Network Zurich meets for drinks on Wednesdays from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hotel Storchen in Zurich. In July and August the venue is Hotel Zürichberg.
